Basement Laundry Room Refresh

Our client had a laundry room storage and clothes drying area that was less than ideal from both a functional perspective as well as an aesthetic one. We redesigned a laundry storage and drying center and will be installing sliding doors into the room to enhance the flow into the room since the current configuration requires a careful shimmying to get into the room.

Before - notice how the door opens into the room, and one has to shimmy into the room and then close the door to be able to get to the laundry area behind. Our client had a makeshift cupboard and drying rack with very little area to store things or place a basket.
Before - both doors being solid made the hallway feel dark and a bit cramped, and the fact that they both swung awkwardly into their respective rooms made them both in need of a functional update.
Progress Photo - Now the client has a beautiful, organized space to store laundry supplies, hang clothes to dry, and even place a laundry basket. All wood was stained to match the existing wood trim throughout the house. Custom cabinetry built by The Woodwork Shop.

Laundry center with new sliding door that no longer takes up the whole room, making more of the room usable (and also making it feel much larger than before). This project is a great example of how small, well-designed moves can make a big impact on a space!
